Clever design duo, Jeff and Randy Vines set up shop on a corner storefront along Cherokee Street five years ago (in 2010), and built a t-shirt empire. That said, STL-Style is not merely a St. Louis-themed apparel boutique; it is the ethos for an entire movement to revitalize the city, fueled by two vocal brothers whose love for STL is without limits.
As STL-Style turned five, the Vines and 400 or so of their closest friends celebrated with the Half-Decade Escapade, an afternoon filled with food, booze, live music, and all of the color and character that makes this business truly special. Photo Flood Saint Louis wouldn’t have missed this event for the world; hopefully you didn’t either!

The business’ success stems from their support of the city, and from the firsthand knowledge the brothers’ have of it. From STL-Style’s website:
“This city is an original, and every corner tells a story. From Downtown to Dogtown, Patch to Penrose, Saint Louis is both a work in progress and a work of art. We are particularly enchanted by four-family flats, dudes in leisure suits, cobblestone alleys, graffiti walls, MetroLink trains, toasted ravioli, that muddy river, and the 250 years worth of soul packed into this city’s streets. Why? Well, because it’s Saint Louis, that’s why. This town is overflowing with idiosyncrasies, and that unique local flavor should be a source of pride, not embarrassment.”
The Vines are also very dedicated to historic preservation and the concerns of city living, focuses that find them guest speaking throughout the country on such topics.

If fate has so far prevented you from visiting the STL-Style shop on Cherokee, there is no time like the present! In terms of genuine, city-loving soul, there is probably no other business on earth that comes anywhere close.
